About this Event

The Juvenile Services Education Program (JSEP) is hiring! OPEN INTERVIEWS FOR TEACHERS. Career opportunities will be held on Friday, April 18, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

The Maryland Department of Juvenile Services (DJS) in partnership with DLLR at the Frederick County Workforce/American Job Center are proud to host this event. This is an in-person event, interview appointments are not required, however they are strongly recommended!

Join us for an IN-PERSON hiring event located at Frederick Community College's Monroe Center. We are accepting applications and will conduct on-the-spot interviews for certified, dedicated and caring education professionals with the desire join our team!

As a JSEP Teacher, you will play an important role in transforming the lives of young people currently in care of DJS by providing them with guidance, support, and education needs to overcome obstacles and unlock their full potential.

Our teachers foster a safe, inclusive environment where youth are motivated to learn. They design engaging lessons tailored to individual needs, utilizing diverse teaching strategies and technologies to enhance learning. Assessing progress regularly, they provide personalized support and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address challenges effectively. Through restorative practices, teachers promote positive relationships and accountability, acting as mentors and role models. They maintain open communication with families and engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices.

*Qualified candidates MUST possess a valid MSDE Secondary Education Certification (Conditional, Standard Professional, Advanced Professional, Advanced Professional +30, or Advanced Professional +60) in any endorsement area.
