Calling all educators! It's International Museum Day and we're shining a light on the amazing contributions that women are making to science and museums. You're invited to a special professional development event at the South Australian Museum with Dr Elizabeth Reed. Dr Reed is a lecturer and researcher in Palaeontology at the School of Biological Sciences at the University of Adelaide and a research scientist in Palaeontology at the South Australian Museum. She specialises in Quaternary cave deposits, notably in the south east region of South Australia. A leading expert in her field, Dr Reed studies the effects of climate change on animal life to help answer questions about how lost biodiversity irretrievably impacts the world we live in.
Join Dr Reed and her team of female postgraduate students for a special evening event to learn more about their research in different palaeontology areas, and make connections in the four different Museum fossil galleries to the Australian Curriculum. We'll also explore pathways for female students into science, particularly palaeontology research, during a series of mini-talks and a Q&A forum.
Light refreshments provided.
