The journey of dementia is a tough road for everyone involved. But have we stopped to really think about how dementia is affecting the one that has been diagnosed? Are we doing everything we should be? Are we respecting their wants, personality traits, and routines? Let's learn how this diagnosis may be affecting the one living with dementia. Angie, the Memory Care Director at the Boulevards of St. Peters is a National Board-Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant with over 13 years of experience in skilled rehab and long-term care. She led Restorative and quality measures programs for three years. Her passion for educating and supporting those affected by dementia is inspiring. Angie began her career as a child care teacher, where she realized the importance of understanding behaviors. This sparked her interest in sensory integration and occupational therapy. While working with seniors, she found the same principle applied to those with dementia. In June 2024, Angie joined Arrow Senior Living, continuing her dedication to compassionate care and understanding that people are more than their behaviors.
