About this Event

In celebration of the centenary of Brazilian educator Paulo Freire (19 September 1921 – 2 May 1997), one of the most important thinkers of the twentieth century, we have the honour of convening a conference to discuss the theme of “education and social justice across borders”. The conference is hosted by the Centre for Research in Educational and Social Inclusion (CRESI), University of South Australia, in partnership with the Postgraduate Program in Language Studies, Fluminense Federal University, Brazil, and the English Postgraduate Program, University of São Paulo, Brazil. See event briefing here.

Participants can register for all or part of the conference activities. See full program details here.

Please note: dates and times show Australian Central Daylight Time: UTC +10:30 hours.

The event is free and conducted in hybrid mode on Zoom and at the University of South Australia. This is a multilingual event. Contributions can be made in English, Portuguese and Spanish, and we will use consecutive translation and the chat function in Zoom to include all participants.
