Full Circle Theatre Co presents Educating Rita at Gemma's of Leigh, 95-97 Broadway West, Leigh on Sea.
Starting at 7pm, arrive to a delicious meal of lasagne and potatoe wedges or fajitas and salad, enjoy a glass of wine, and then at 8pm sit back to enjoy the play in this lovely intimate venue.
Rita is bored…. Bored of salon talk; the latest hair styles on Insta, Love Island, the footie, what was said down the pub, and decides to up the stakes and get herself an education, even if that goes against the grain and what ‘him indoors’ approves of.
Frank is also bored, but principally of himself; in a dead-end job he no longer enjoys, teaching students who seem disinterested, his poetry in the waste bin, only the surreptitious swigs of alcohol getting him through the day.
Then Rita breezes into his life, fully of energy, gusto, ballsy and streetwise ……!!
This classic and enduring comedy shows us what it is to want more and the discomfort in moving on to reach our full potential – but what a prize awaits.
