4 to 7 October 2024Our master class will help you take the next step towards improving your macro underwater photography and achieving results you will be proud of.
This is a live in course conducted at Edithburgh, Yorke Peninsula, one of South Australia’s most amazing shore dives and an ideal location for underwater photography.
The master classes are conducted by Professional Underwater Photographer and Cinematographer, Paul Macdonald of downunderpix.
The agenda for each master class will include macro photography theory sessions and dives. The theory sessions will cover the following topics specific to macro underwater photography:
Refresher on the basics
Camera set up
Camera Settings
Composition
Lighting
Advanced Techniques
The dives will allow you to put the theory into practice under the guidance of Paul with 4 course dives over 2 days and further unsupervised dives for further practice.
To participate in a masterclass, as a minimum you must hold an open water qualification with a recognised scuba diver training agency, be 15 years or older and provide your own scuba diving equipment (minimum of 2 tanks) and underwater camera system. Although not essential, bring your laptop if you have one. Also, to get the most out of this course you will have sufficient diving experience to have good underwater buoyancy control. And as a prerequisite, it is expected that you will have experience using your underwater camera system with manual settings and have a basic understanding of the concepts of exposure and depth of field. Successful completion of an entry level underwater photography course would be beneficial.
