Join us for a light-hearted Victorian day as we stroll through the streets of Edinburgh’s Old Town enjoy a picnic in The Meadows during cherry blossom season visit museums and take cheerful photographs.
Edinburgh is magical in the spring and we’ve chosen Saturday 31st May for a Victorian-themed outing.
The theme is general Victorian so feel free to take inspiration from any period between the 1840s and the late 1890s.
You are welcome to bring umbrellas walking sticks top hats crinolines or any other accessories that fit the theme.
This isn’t a historical re-enactment so there’s no need to be too precise! Simply aim to reflect the period as much as possible with your attire.
Itinerary:
We’ll begin with brunch— or "early afternoon tea"— at The Willow Tea Rooms on Princes Street at 10:00 am.
Brunch is entirely optional. If you’d rather skip it you’re welcome to join us at Princes Gardens at around 11:00 am.
(Please note: The booking at the tea rooms is individual—please make your own reservation for 10:00 am and let me know once you have done so. I will arrange for the tables to be placed together.)
From Princes Gardens we’ll make our way towards the cemetery then up The Mound stopping at the inner courtyard of the School of Divinity. We’ll then visit the Writers' Museum before heading to the Royal Mile George IV Bridge Grassmarket Candlemaker Row Greyfriars Cemetery and finally The Meadows.
We’ll enjoy a picnic beneath the cherry blossoms alongside other gatherings.
We’re looking forward to a wonderful day!
We can’t wait to share a delightful spring afternoon and experience a nostalgic glimpse into a bygone era.
