Ever wondered why Edinburgh looks the way it does today?...or how it came to be Scotland's foremost city?
On this walk from the Canongate to Calton Hill you'll hear how the city, and its identity, has been changed and shaped by trade, industry, royalty, religion, culture, and landscape over the last 900 years. Along the way you'll see over 400 years of the city's changing architecture, from traditional tolbooths to the spectacular 21st century Parliament.

Finish: Calton Hill
Time: approx. 2 hours
Distance: approx. 1.5 miles / 2.5km
Terrain: Moderate – mostly pavements with some steps and steep slopes

Comfortable footwear is also recommended. Maximum group size is 8 people, the tour is given in English and is recommended for ages 16+.
