Edinburgh International Book Festival would like to invite you to the launch of the Baillie Gifford Schools Programme 2024.
This is your opportunity to get an insight into our schools events before tickets go on sale on Tuesday 23 April.
This is an event for teachers, librarians and other education professionals.
What you can expect:
- Arrive at 4.30pm and mingle before presentations start at 5pm.
- Get an insight into our programme as Rachel Fox, our Children & Education Programme Director, highlights some of our exciting events and strands.
- The best-selling L.R. Lam, shares an exclusive preview of the upcoming collection, Future Hopes: Hopeful stories in a time of climate change, and how to make the most of a schools event.
- Our Schools Writer-in Residence at the Alternative School at the Spartans Community Foundation, Chris Barkley will give a presentation on using sport to inspire creative work with young people, and how these activities have improved their learning experiences and boosted their confidence.
- Discover more about our online Learning Site where you can find event recordings, activities and teaching resources, along with more information on the Schools Programme.
After Presentations:
• Choose from a selection at our FREE book stall to take back to your school with you.
• There will also be opportunities to ask questions about our programme or your own visit to the Festival and to talk informally over a drink and some nibbles.
