Edible and Medicinal Weeds - Eat Your Invasives!

We hope folks are enjoying the official start of Spring (although someone apparently forgot to tell the weather)! With the rise in temps, we finally have some plants poking out through the frigid soil. Unfortunately (or for us…fortunately), most of these early risers are some of our most opportunistic "weeds" and invasive plants.
What You'll Learn
During this walk, we will learn about the positive aspects of these often maltreated and despised plants; and how they are often some of our favorite delicious and nutritious wild (feral?) foods. In our family, these plants are pretty much the only greens we eat in the spring! In this class, you will learn to identify some of our most common non-native plants, their edible and medicinal uses, and even preservation methods so that you can enjoy them year-round.
Location
We will meet at northwest corner of the parking lot adjacent to Wilber D May Museum, San Rafael and Washington Street. 39.546379, -119.862560.
