Hello Floral and Fungal Friends!Back by popular demand, we have added a second plant walk for July. First walk filled up two weeks ahead of time so don't delay in signing up if you're hoping to snag a spot! This one will take place in a similar location and will cover some of the same plants (but also a number of new ones!)
Details
During this walk, we will be experiencing some of the amazing flora that the Eastern Sierra Nevada have to offer! The Truckee area is home to some of the most extensive diversity in this mountain range, including a number of notable edible and medicinal plants.
While having a strong focus on the ethnobotanical uses of these plants, we will also cover the general ecology of this floristically diverse location and exactly what makes the broader Truckee area such a magical place to live when it comes to our natural places.
Time and Location
Carpenter Valley area. 8:45am-12noon
The walk will be a slow hike consisting of 2-4 miles of moderately-rated trails with occasional elevation changes. Our walk will end at roughly noon but we will have lunch out in the forest for those interested!
Cost
$40/person + Donation-based
10% of tickets will be allotted to free attendees. In order for participants to glean the most possible from this experience, attendance will be limited.
Thank you and we hope to see you there!
