Come to an exciting hike on a little-known South Mountain trail exploring the incredible world of desert plants (and any birds we see)!About this Event
Park on the street near the address given. The trailhead is a short walk away. Make sure not to block driveways.
Make sure to wear good hiking shoes, a hiking pole is suggested, hat, sunscreen, plenty of water and snacks, camera/phone, and an inquisitive mind. We'll take plenty of water breaks, and enjoy a picnic together on the mountain top (150 ft. elevation rise). Safety is first.
I'll bring native plant drinks and snacks for you. Bring your own favorite snacks too. You must fill out the liability form online before attending:
Every plant walk is a learning time and a party in nature!
Make sure to let me know if you cannot attend so I can open up the waitlist.
Ironwoods love to grow near rivers like the dry one we'll walk up.
Ironwood beans taste like hazelnuts and are ripe in June and July.
Children allowed if they are good hikers on a steep, rocky mountain.
