About this Event
Global drug policy has been shifting from a criminal justice approach to prioritizing health rights. However, Indonesia falls significantly short of meeting the minimum standards for fulfilling health rights for individuals who use drugs. This situation has led to numerous human rights violations, encompassing civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights.
The Buffett Institute and its Equality Development & Globalization Studies (EDGS) program invites you to a public talk with Buffett Visiting Scholar Asmin Fransiska, Senior Human Rights Lecturer at Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia, who will discuss her recent research on the drug patterns in Indonesia’s Aceh Province and the socio-legal implications for those involved in drug-related crimes under Indonesia's current drug policy.
