About this Event
Edek’s Doodle Chat is a relaxed social group for all to doodle and chat. A safe space to talk and listen. An opportunity to be social and prioritise well-being. A place to connect and build community.
All materials provided free of charge, or if you have a creative activity that you’re working on, bring it along. This could be anything from a colouring book to a painting, writing materials to collage stuff, or some air drying clay.
Facilitated by Edek Thompson, a local community artist who uses his art practice to support his mental health and wellbeing.
Although people are welcome to pop in at any point in the three hour window, we'd like to have an idea of how many people to expect, so please book a free ticket to let us know you're coming. Suitable for complete beginners or people who haven't engaged in a creative practice for a while. You don't need to be affected by grief to attend the session - all welcome.
Edek's Doodle Chat is 'popping up' at St Catherine's, Barmby Moor, as part of the Life After Loss exhibition, a partnership between Projecting Grief and Barmby Moor group of churches. The Projecting Grief exhibition, which tells the stories of people finding comfort, distraction or hope in a creative pursuit after losing someone they love, is running in St Catherine's Church for five weeks from 24 November and will be available to view before, during or after the Doodle Chat session.
Genersouly funded by a Do It For East Yorkshire Community Grant.
