Yoga Sangraha and Self-Regulation Through Yoga
Yoga Sangraha is an approach to Yoga that focuses on nervous system regulation through a combination of slow and dynamic practices, all drawn from the larger Hatha Yoga traditions and Indian physical exercise traditions.
We will do a variety of sun salutations, some dynamic practices from the Hindu wrestling practices, as well as standing, seated, inversions, and back extension poses, in order to address the various functions of the nervous system.
Eddie has put these sequences together over the past decade through experimentation and exploration of Hatha Yoga practices and texts.
This evening class will be oriented towards regulation of the autonomic nervous system, leading to states of inner calm and balance.
Following the class, we will discuss the scientific mechanisms behind how this practice — and yoga in general — works.
Open to all levels.

The class combines a 75-minute physical practice with a 45-minute lecture, offering both a direct embodied experience of working with the body and nervous system, as well as a deeper understanding of the mechanisms behind yoga practice.
The event is open to practitioners of all levels.
🌿 ABOUT THE TEACHER
Eddie Stern is a yoga teacher, author, and researcher based in New York.
He has been practicing and teaching yoga since the late 1980s, and his work integrates classical Hatha Yoga traditions with contemporary knowledge of nervous system function.
Eddie is the founder of Broome Street Yoga and the creator of the Yoga Sangraha approach, developed over more than a decade through the study of yogic texts, personal practice, and extensive teaching experience.
