A unique antenatal education course for first time parents that focuses on the experience of the baby and the transition to parenthood
About this Event

Preparation for Birth and Beyond (PBB) supports parents to prepare for baby's arrival. Together we will look at understanding baby, birth, feeding, sleep, preparing relationships and where to get support and advice.

PBB is available to all first-time parents (who pay Community Charge to Leeds City Council)

Please book on to a PBB course when you are 24 weeks pregnant or later at the time of booking.

Courses run either Face to Face during the day or Virtually in the evening. The courses run weekly Monday-Friday on the same day and time each week, there are 4 weekly antenatal sessions, plus a 5th session post birth reunion (date and time to be confirmed at a later date). We welcome fathers and partners to attend these courses. It is important you are available for all 4 antenatal sessions. Please only book 1 ticket (per household) which will cover all 4 sessions.

Try where possible to book a course closest to where you live. This will enable you to meet other parents as well as a registered Midwife, 0-19 Specialist Public Health Nurse (Health Visitor) and Children's Centre worker from your local area. Places are limited therefore please cancel your booking if you are unable to attend.

You can find out more from your midwife or by contacting our Single Point of Access on 0113 8435683 or by accessing https://www.leedscommunityhealthcare.nhs.uk/our-services-a-z/0-19-public-health-integrated-nursing/parents-from-leeds-and-group-support/

O R

We also offer Baby Bubble. Baby Bubble Leeds is a closed Facebook support group for mums to be that begins at sixteen weeks pregnant and is there for you up to six months after your baby is born.

0-19 Public Health Integrated Nursing Service (Health Visiting and School Nursing) and Leeds Teaching Hospitals Midwifery Service are working together to provide dedicated support and advice on all questions baby related. If you would like to join a group please email: [email protected]

Please note, if you do not pay your Community Charge to Leeds City Council, you are not entitled to PBB Leeds or Baby Bubble. Please contact your Midwife who may be able to signpost you to support in your area.
