Day 1: Great RidgeStarting from the picturesque Hope Valley village of Castleton and under the shadows of Peveril Castle, we head out through Cave Dale, before reaching a stunning view from the summit of Mam Tor. We follow the famous Great Ridge over Back Tor and Lose Hill before crossing the river Noe and returning along Peakshole Water from the pretty village of Hope. (Approx 9 miles)
11am: Castleton Visitor Centre Car Park, Buxton Road, S33 8WN
Day 2: Kinder Scout
From Edale in the beautiful Hope Valley, we take on a tough climb to reach the plateau of Kinder Scout, famed for the historic mass trespass that lead the way to today's public rights of way and access to so many beautiful parts of the UK.
On the way we pass some of the most interesting rock formations you will ever see and descend via Jacob's Ladder, accompanied by stunning views all the way! (Approx 10 miles)
10am: Edale Car Park, Hope Valley S33 7ZL (village hall)
Waterproofs, warm layers, walking boots, packed lunch essential.
Dogs welcome, but with leads.
