About this Event

ECSTATIC SHAKE is a monthly event for 2SLGBTQ+ & allied community members in Guelph, Ontario seeking space to feel, dance, and express themselves authentically. Whether you find peace through physicality, tranquility through meditation, or calm through music, this event is a welcoming space for you.

We encourage shakers to refrain from the consumption of alcohol for a truly intentional experience.

Discover the transformative power of dance in a judgment-free space. Attendees 16+ are invited to journey with us through a dynamic set from our rotating DJ each month, experiencing the sheer joy of being in the moment. ECSTATIC SHAKE is a monthly sanctuary away from the hustle, where intentionality and joy complement self and community.

You don’t have to be a good dancer or have formal dance training to shake with us!

What to Expect

🎶 Journey through sound with a curated mix that flows from ambient and downtempo to lively house and disco, with everything in between. Listen to our sample playlist to get a feel for what to expect!

🤫 Shake with the music and leave your voice at the door (avoid excessive talking in the studio; talking quietly is welcome in common areas outside of the studio).

🦶 A shoes-off space (socks, bare feet, no shoes).

🚭 An alcohol-free environment for an intentional experience.

🌈 A space designed for 2SLGBTQ+ and allied community members (respect one another and share responsibility for each others wellness).

✨ A judgment, intolerance, and discrimination-free space.

🧃 Light refreshments and snacks are provided.

❤️ Gender-inclusive washrooms available.

What to Bring

Comfortable clothing that allows you to move and celebrate freely.
A reusable water vessel to stay hydrated (water fountains are available).
A small towel — dancing is a workout!
A positive attitude and your beautiful self.

Location & Parking

ECSTATIC SHAKE is located at Studio A, Guelph Youth Dance (42 Quebec Street, Guelph, Ontario). The downtown bus terminal is approximately a four minute walk from 42 Quebec Street. There is street parking where available, however we recommend you allow enough time to find parking. The Market Parkade is free weekday evenings after 6:00 PM.

Your health and safety are our top priority. We are closely monitoring local public health guidelines and policies. If you are feeling unwell or exhibiting symptoms, we kindly ask that you stay home and join us another time. Masks are optional.

Inclement Weather

In the case of severe weather conditions or travel risks, ECSTATIC SHAKE may be cancelled for the safety of all participants. Attendees will be notified promptly via email and our social media channels. For any event cancellation due to extreme weather, full refunds will be provided for all advance ticket purchases.

Refunds for Advance Tickets

Advance tickets purchased for ECSTATIC SHAKE at the rate of $20 are eligible for a refund.
If your plans change and you are unable to attend, we offer a full refund for ticket cancellations made up to 7 days prior to the event date.

Refund requests made after this period cannot be accommodated, as they are crucial in our final preparations for the event.

Photography & Videography

Please be advised that by attending ECSTATIC SHAKE, you may be photographed or filmed. We capture these moments to document the energy and spirit of our event, and the content created may be used for future marketing and promotional purposes for ECSTATIC SHAKE and other MYLKSHAKE Management Inc. events. We strive to respect your privacy and ensure that the essence of the event is captured authentically and respectfully. If you have concerns about being filmed or photographed, please let our team know upon arrival, and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.
