SUNDAY, 2/22, 10am-12pm, arrive 9:45am
You are warmly invited to Full Moon Studio in Iowa City for our monthly Ecstatic Dance experience with live percussionist “Regional Coordinator of the Cosmic Yes” playing original percussion, soundscapes, and soundloops.
Adina will be your host to guide you through the ecstatic dance experience.
Regional Coordinator is always exploring ways to link the group with the music and to create new music that resonates through improvisation.
9:45am-Doors open-please arrive early to settle in
10am-circle up and explain a bit about ecstatic dance and what to expect
1.5 hours of dancing-starts will slow warm up and ends with 15 mins guided cool down and grounding
What is Ecstatic Dance?

Cost: Sliding scale $10-20, Venmo or cash at the door
Bring:
water bottle (suggested)-there is water on site
Altar item(optional)-if you would like to bring something to place in the center altar to connect with: your power, nature, spirituality, grief, life journey, loved one, sacred object (we won't be sharing about these items, this will be for you to interact with on a personal level while dancing and it will also bring your energy to the space)
Note on spirituality: All spiritual traditions are welcome in this space
Clothing: You will likely get hot, so would advise layers.
Barefoot or socks are best, but shoes are permitted if you need them.
Valuables: Best to leave in your car, there isn’t a great place to store personal items.
Where: Full Moon Studio, 1210 S. Gilbert St., Suite 105, Iowa City
Directions: Across the street from Big Grove Brewery, in the same building as Thai Spice Restaurant, but all the way at the end of the row. Turn in the parking lot of Thai Spice and Euro Foods. Free parking lot right outside.
This will happen monthly
-Substance free space.
-Dance alone or with others, but please no contact on the dance floor. Physical safety/autonomy is a priority in this space.
-Please don’t take photos or videos (not everyone feels ready to share this with the world and we want people to be able to be in the moment).
-Avoid wearing scents.
