Come and join us on the very 1st day of 2025!!! 

Together we will anchor our intentions for the year ahead in a Sacred Cacao Sharing Circle followed by an Ecstatic Dance Journey guided by live DJ (DJ VJ)  with a Grounding Meditation and ending the event with a 1 hour Divine Sound Bath by special guest Katie Louise.

Ecstatic Dance is a globally recognised event, creating a safe and respectful space for us to 'just dance', free flow and let go. All abilities are welcome.

Mother Cacao

Ceremonial cacao is a term for high-grade, fine-flavor, traditional chocolate that's used to emulate some of the spiritual practices of the Maya and Aztec people. What is Ecstatic Dance?

Ecstatic Dance is a dance/movement practice exploring the exhilarating feeling of moving your body freely. You are invited to move, play, connect, sweat, stretch, sound, unwind, renew, release, improvise and transform.

Ecstatic Dance has organically grown into a space of movement and music exploration inspired by sources such as; Gabrielle Roth (5 rhythms), ritual dance, trance dance and contact improvisation. These influences have evolved Ecstatic Dance into a movement journey of the mind, body and soul. The music will take the dancer on a movement journey through a diverse mixture of rhythms and genres depending on the DJ and circle leader. There is no teacher, but there is a circle leader to provide containment and guidance.

Ecstatic Dance Guidelines

1. No talking in the dance space

2. No shoes. Ecstatic Dance is a barefoot dance practice helping us to ground and connect to the earth

3. No drugs/alcohol.

4. Phone-free zone

5. Respect for each other's personal space

Over 16s only (for now)

What to bring

- Comfy clothes for movement and fun expression, changing facilities are provided

- Bring a small snack for afterwards (advisable but not required)

There is free parking at the venue car park or in the surrounding streets. The preferred carpark is the top Iona School carpark up the steep hill.

Facilitator Victoria Jane

Victoria Jane has been passionate about dance since early childhood, dancing through ballet school and performing arts college to training at 'The Place' London Contemporary Dance School and accomplishing a BA Hons in Contemporary Dance at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance. After her studies, Victoria found interest in the healing arts and yogic movement and philosophy. Victoria first found her passion for free flow movement through '5 Rhythms' workshops in Melbourne Australia and then ventured back to Europe where she facilitated Ecstatic Dance in The Netherlands with the Ecstatic Dance team in The Hague. Victoria has an MA Degree in Myth, Cosmology and the Sacred, where she majored in Jungian thought, Spiritual Channeling and Ekstasis Dance, exploring her concept 'Being or Pretending to Be', into the question, 'Are you Dancing or Pretending to Dance?'

Victoria hopes her experience and knowledge bring ease-fulness, depth and inspiration to the ecstatic dancers' inner journey and expression.

D JvJ (Victoria Jane) is self taught World Fusion DJ and has recently been professionally trained by the 'Dance the Medicine' Ecstatic DJ School. DJvJ's music set style is an explorational journey through tribal percussion, classical piano, folk, African house, Indian sitar, tantric beats, latin salsa with a dash of 90s house and maybe even a cheeky pop for good measure. As Victoria was a dancer before she was a DJ she has an ear for what will make you DANCE DANCE DANCE.

About Katie’s Work

Reconnection And Belonging

As a sound healer working with vibrational medicine , I hold a deep understanding and wisdom of the power of frequency and its ability to affect our emotions and overall well-being. I believe in the work I do simply because it’s what saved my life. Although much of my path has been shamanic and very magical I am committed to maintaining balance with the human experience.

​We are in this human body to live a human experience, and my work is to bring us into balance with our mind, body and spirit. So we can live a more fulfilling life.

Through my work, I aim to help people connect back to their heart and this life, allowing them to transmute any old energy , activating new energy to align with their higher self to lead a more fulfilling and heart based life. Coming back to your most luminous self.

Using a variety of instruments and vocal transmissions, helping people connect with their own unique energy and tap into the power of the universe to achieve energetic alignment . I use sound as a gateway of healing, relaxation , an activation of life force and rebirth, and energetic alignment .

A graceful, feminine space holder who believes in the combination of holding a safe space and working in harmony with nature. This approach recognises that we are all connected to the natural world and that healing can come from our relationship with the earth.

I incorporate the wisdom and energy of earth and plant spirits into her practice, using the elements of shamanism helping individuals connect with their own inner wisdom, magic and intuition.
