What is Ecstatic Dance? It’s a freestyle dance that lasts approximately 75mins. You can expect music from a mix of genres, anything with a beat that encourages fun, light hearted movement. After the dance, we have a delicious potluck to refuel everyone before their drive home. Please bring a dish to share & a friend who loves to shake their groove 🍑 thang!
Doors open at 7pm for warmup/drinks & lock at 7:30pm just before our Opening ⭕️ Circle so please be on time. We will go over the following dance guidelines during circle.
We have 4 guidelines in order to create the “container” that is Ecstatic Dance.
Our 4 dance guidelines: please be on time, honor each others personal space, no talking or major distractions during the dance & please dress modestly since we have children who attend on occasion. We want the dances to be a safe space for ALL no matter our differences.

A botanical bar will be set up serving delicious Kava Koncoctions (organic non-alcoholic kocktails made with kava) or our homebrew kombucha. $3-5ea

Facilitator: Charity Edwards of Knox Holistic who has been facilitating ecstatic dances in various dance studios & festivals for the last 13yrs. I would describe my music mixes as a blend of as many genres as possible in one mix so there’s something for everybody. If it’s got a beat & makes us want to move our feet, I’m playing it. To hear a sample playlist, click Spotify link below. I like to clean house to these mixes when I’m not on the dance floor, so enjoy! PS. I will explain in more detail why the music mix is created in sort of a bell curve/wave at the opening circle. It starts out slow & ends slow with a peak in the middle. This is the flow of Ecstatic Dance music & there’s a specific reason facilitators create the music mixes this way.
