The Drum Nomads is a performance group that specializes in rhythms from around the world. Yes, we're primarily drummers, but we're also musicians too, so not only will this ecstatic dance event feature cool grooves, but also a range of melodic instruments and vocal harmonies to add to the excitement.Ecstatic dance is an improvisational style of movement that encourages free expression as a form of meditation that allows the dancers to experience a simultaneous inner journey and a group experience of shared energy.
The Drum Nomads will start things off slowly, encouraging the dancers to warm up with stretching and breathing and gentle movement. Then, over the course of the evening, we'll pick up the tempo and gradually turn up the heat as the energy builds. When we reach the peak where everyone is flying high on good vibrations, we'll guide everyone back down for a smooth landing.
At that point, all the dancers are invited to get comfy, usually lying on a yoga mat or blanket, as we continue the journey with a relaxing ambient sound bath.
Cost is $20 per adult.
The event begins at 6:30, so we recommend you arrive a couple minutes early to settle in before we start.
We also suggest you bring a yoga mat or blanket and a water bottle.
