Ecstatic Dance:Community Flow @ The Bridge [DJ to be announced]

We are excited to announce that Ecstatic Dance Christchurch has received a supportive grant from Creative Communities. This funding has given us an extra boost in energy and inspiration for the dance. It also means that our dance has been recognised as an important offering to the Christchurch community.
Ecstatic Dance:Community Flow is a series of 10 dances, that will occur on the first Saturday of each month. We hope this event will be the big party of each month, and will encourage new dancers to attend and regular dancers to really let loose on the dancefloor!

Ecstatic Dance is a global movement dance event for open and beautiful souls from all walks of life. You're never too old - and never too young!
The guidelines we follow in the dance:
Be present - without phones or cameras.
Be embodied - without talking.
Be clear - with no alcohol or drugs.
Be consensual - look for a clear yes, respect a no.
Be here - with no outside shoes [sox okay]
Be free - dance how you want to!
No Judgements - be authentic!
And please be aware of your own body and its capabilities.
When we step on the dance floor, we include our whole selves, even the frightened parts that want to hide.
We open the doors at 7pm with relaxing, reflective, meditative music. You can stretch, meditate or move - but please no chit chat as this interrupts others who want to experience the event more deeply.
At 7.20 we welcome you to the dance and the DJ journey begins. At about 8.50pm we lay down and catch our breath, relax and become grounded - while listening to sweet ambient sounds and experience a mini gong bath. We close with a group circle where we can all speak [or not] and get to know each other a little better.
$15 / $20 / $25 [Cash - pay what you wish]
kids under 18 dance for free - with a guardian.
