🪩 Part early-evening dance party, part sacred somatic journey, Ecstatic Dance is an opportunity to feel liberated in your body while building a strong sense of community and belonging. This is Gainesville's FIRST weekly Ecstatic Dance since Covid and it's happening on the spongy-soft dance floor of the gorgeous Gainesville Movement Studio. (We're doing a trial run of weekly dances for the next four weeks, so if you want weekly dances to continue, please come out and bring your friends!)

At Ecstatic Dance, we let go of talking, kick off our shoes, and move however our bodies choose! 🤸🏾♂️ Imagine being able to enjoy dancing and movement in an environment that encourages your self-expression. Any and all movement is encouraged. 💃🏾🕺🏼 You may want to stretch, do a little tai chi, twerk on the wall, or shimmy with reckless abandon. Or perhaps you want to sit in stillness and simply soak up the good vibes. This is your time to be fully present in your body, and explore freeform movement.
While we let go of conversation during the 90-minute dance, singing along and making silly noises are both accepted and encouraged. 😁
Doors open at 6:30 and close at 7 pm for a brief Opening Circle where we'll go over important guidelines. Be sure to arrive before 7 so we can create a safe container for the experience and be free from the distraction of late arrivals. 🙏🏽 The studio doors will be locked at 7!
After Opening Circle, the dance will be 90 minutes of music from around the world in a carefully curated mix designed by Happiness Coach Angela Dragon. (We'll have guest facilitators and DJs in the weeks ahead!) The music will flow from slow and gentle at the beginning, up to wild and free and then back down, giving you a complete journey.
At the end of the 90-minute dance, you can head out if you'd like or stay for a short Closing Circle for heart shares, mutual aid requests/offerings, and community announcements.
Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door.
