Join UF/IFAS Extension Sarasota County for an engaging walk into the fantastic world of mangroves on a tour through one of our local natural areas. These walks will focus on learning about the ecology of mangrove ecosystems, identification of mangroves and other species associated with them, and wildlife viewing.
*****Trail Accessibility Information:
Trail surface/conditions: The main walking trail consists of a crushed shell path. There are additional mowed grassy trails. Boardwalks are in the southern end of the park.
Potential obstacles/barriers/hazards: Trails often experience temporary flooding due to heavy rain events and high tides. Mowed grassy trails may have uneven terrain. Boardwalks may be slippery following rain and tidal events. Certain trails may be closed depending on bald eagle nesting activity.
Accessibility options available: Accessible butterfly garden, trails, and environmental center.
***Please Note: Instructors may choose paths through varied terrain, surfaces, and changes in elevation. For accessibility questions, please contact for more information.
