Join us for a hands-on, family-friendly day that celebrates how everyday discarded materials can be transformed into shared resources, art, and opportunity. From food scrap cooking demos to clothing swaps and creative reuse workshops, EcoLoop connects residents to practical, joyful ways to reduce waste and build a more sustainable Baltimore.

Come learn, play, fix, taste, swap, and connect with organizations working across the city to help us rethink waste because when we close the loop, we all win.

What’s Happening:

• Food Scrap Cooking Demo: Creative ways to make the most of every bite.

• Mending Clinic with Station North Tool Library: Work with fixers to bring your fabrics back to life (small rips, holes, hems, missing buttons, and zippers). Doors close at 1 pm.

• Compost Workshops: Discover how to turn food scraps into rich soil.

• Smoothie Bike: Pedal power meets food rescue!
• Clothing Swap: Refresh your wardrobe sustainably - bring clean, gently used clothes to trade or find something new-to-you.

• Creative Reuse Zone: Make art from discarded materials with Scrap Bmore.

• Free Food Market: Shop the free market and prevent waste by sharing rescued food (while supplies last).

• Resource Fair: Learn how organizations across Baltimore are working towards a sustainable city.

Info: Bring a piece of clothing in need of mending—small rips, missing buttons, broken zippers, or hems. Volunteers from the Station North Tool Library will be on hand to help extend the life of your wearable items! Items will be mended on a first-come, first-served basis, and you’re encouraged to learn from your assigned volunteer so you can mend more in the future. Doors close a 1 pm.

Info: Discover the basics of composting and how to get started at home. This workshop will walk you through what can and cannot be composted, how to maintain a healthy compost system, and the environmental benefits of keeping food scraps out of the trash. Composting guides and resources will be available to take home.

Info: Get ready to move, learn, and have fun with GameOn! Fitness. This high-energy, interactive activity combines recycling trivia, light exercise, and engaging conversations about the benefits of recycling and diverting waste.

Info: Learn how to turn everyday food scraps into new, delicious meals! Join Chef Crystal as she demonstrates creative, waste-free recipes using ingredients you might normally throw away. Free samples will be provided and you’ll leave with practical tips to reduce food waste at home

Info: Explore the world of vermicomposting: composting with worms! Learn how worm bins work, what worms need to thrive, and how this small-scale system can turn household food scraps into nutrient-rich compost. Participants will receive informational materials to help them begin or improve their own worm composting setup.

Info: Stop by the Free Food Market! We’ll have rescued fruits, vegetables, and more—all for free (while supplies last). The food is generously provided by Pratt Free Market, No Boundaries Coalition, and BeMore Green, helping to reduce food waste while keeping our community fed.
