A workshop that combines the techniques of “flower pounding” and “bundling” to achieve a naturally dyed print on fabric. Discover the organic process of transferring lush florals and foliage, along with a lesson on fabric treating and preparation. You will be immersed in pattern-making with fresh leaves, locally sourced petals, wild flowers and sticks; each plant has a unique class of chemicals called flavonoids (a complex composition of pigments that are used to attract pollinators). Please note: You will leave with a unique framed silk textile. It is suggested to wear old clothing. Participants will be hammering with a mallet. Ear protection is recommended for those with noise sensitivities.
