Get your hands dirty and print with us in this immersive natural dye and botanical print workshop with !
The lesson will cover:
- The fundamentals of eco printing
- How to identify suitable fibres
- How to prepare fibres for receiving and retaining colour
- The plants used in the process of dyeing
- The power of upcycling and reuse: the "trash to treasure" approach
- Ethical wild harvesting practices
- Dye garden essentials
- Techniques and applications used to achieve botanical prints
Hands-on dyeing:
After the lesson, participants will try out the learned techniques and applications of eco printing on handmade, upcycled bandanas and cloth! Examples will be available to spark creativity and curiosity.
Along with their printed art, participants will get to take home an instructional booklet with the information covered in the workshop and resources for further exploration.
This plant-infused event will provide you with the foundational skills to continue natural dye at home, an opportunity to play with other local creaties, and your very own *made by you* eco printed bandana!
Notes:
- Light snacks and herbal tea will be provided as complimentary refreshments.
- All flowers, foliage and dye will be supplied.
