Echoes of the First World War: stories told through objects at North Herts Museum- lunchtime talkOur museum service holds hundreds of items related to the First World War. This talk will look at a wide range of stories from that time, all told through objects held by our museum.
Hear the tale of how a postcard and some metal debris show the ‘Robinson Touch’, which inspired a frightened nation, or the story of how a local conscientious objector stood before a tribunal to testify for his committed beliefs.
What can objects tell us about the changes to people’s ordinary lives, how did local people experience and adapt to those traumatic few years?
