Even if you're new to chanting, this event is for you. We'll explore a variety of traditions, providing CDs & lyric sheets for everyone. Chanting is not about singing; it's about the rhythm, breath, and focus.
Led by Cynthia Wayland and Gregory Myers, the owners and operators of The Bead Angel in Evansville, IN, and my personal mentors.
Each session is a standalone experience. Continuous attendance is not required.
If you haven't tried chanting together in a group, you simply can't imagine what you are missing. Tune, tone, and melody are secondary. It's all about rhythm, breath, and focus—which, strangely enough, is what most forms of meditation are about.
It is also about letting go of preconceptions, self-image, self-concern, worry and stress, and guilt and judgment—which, strangely enough, is what most forms of meditation are about.
