You are invited to the 2025 David William Foster Memorial Lecture, “Echoes of David William Foster’s São Paulo in the Films of Lina Chamie, Juliana Rojas and Viviane Ferreira,” by Andrew C. Rajca, the associate professor of Portuguese, Spanish and Latin American Cultural Studies, from the University of South Carolina.
Inspired by David William Foster’s 2011 publication, “São Paulo: Perspectives on the City and Cultural Production,” Rajca will explore how the filmmakers Lina Chamie, Juliana Rojas and Viviane Ferreira offer new perspectives and cultural critiques on contemporary experiences in São Paulo, Brazil. This event will take place in Durham Hall, room 236.
