Britpop stars Echobelly come to Future Yard on Tuesday 19th November, touring the UK this Winter ahead of the release of a brand new album, just recorded with producer Danton Supple (who’s worked with the likes of Coldplay, Morrissey, Dave Gahan and Patti Smith, to name a few).
Standing in contrast with the lad-heavy scene of Brit-pop since their birth over 30 years ago, Echobelly are led by Sonya Madan, a vocalist who was born in India but raised in Britain, and defied many of the lyrical conventions of the scene, but Echobelly’s music — a loud onslaught of guitars inspired equally by the Smiths, glam, and new wave — still fit comfortably within the confines of British ’90s indie.
