About this Event
We are excited to share the news about the Independent Festival "Echo Lubimovka" in Los Angeles!
For over 30 years, the "Lubimovka" festival has been introducing the world to emerging playwrights who write in Russian, regardless of their background and culture. Through staged readings, the festival addresses the most pressing and important issues, drawing attention to what truly matters today. The festival has been held in Paris, Berlin, Munich, Prague, and many others. Each year, the Lubimovka team carefully selects works from hundreds of participants to bring the most vivid and relevant plays to audiences.
Now, we are thrilled to announce that the festival will take place in Los Angeles on October 19-20, 2024! A special part of the Echo Lubimovka program in Los Angeles will be a screening of fiction and documentary short films.
We have decided to combine theater and cinema to create a space for deep dialogue and self-expression. After each reading and film screening, there will be a Q&A session with the authors and directors. Our goal is to bring together Russian-speaking immigrants, local theater, and film enthusiasts, as well as the professional community interested in contemporary issues and art. For English-speaking audiences, we will provide translations.
