Guitarist Matthew Zengoski makes his solo debut with mentor Nigel Jones (Head of Guitar at Wollongong Conservatorium of Music). In August, Mathew and Nigel led the WollCon Guitar Ensemble for a packed-out performance in the Music Lounge at Merrigong.
Timelines is a program that celebrates the expressive power of the classical guitar, bridging eras and styles from Sor to Piazzolla through to Australian composer #leonardgrigoryan.
The concert opens with the WollCon Junior String Quartet, who won the Foundation Section (musicians up to AMEB Grade 4) of Strike Accord this year, a national chamber competition run by Musica Viva Australia.
