About this Event
Lady Birds for Legacy Workshop
Come join us for an empowering and educational workshop designed to help women take control of their legacy through proper estate planning. This in-person event will feature Attorney Darlene Bell-Alexander, who will explain how Lady Bird Deeds (Enhanced Life Estate Deeds) can help you protect your property, avoid probate, and simplify the transfer of your home to a loved one.
What You’ll Learn
In this one-hour presentation, you’ll discover how a Lady Bird Deed allows you to:
- Maintain full control of your property during your lifetime—live in it, sell it, or refinance it if you choose.
- Name a beneficiary who will automatically inherit the property upon your passing.
- Avoid the time and expense of probate court.
Exclusive Opportunity
Attendees who register and are pre-determined to be eligible can have their Lady Bird Deed prepared, notarized, and e-filed for official recording after the workshop.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be unmarried (single, divorced, or widowed) and the sole owner of the property.
- Must attend in person with valid government-issued photo identification.
- Must provide the full name, address, and marital status of the person who will receive the property.
- Property must be your Florida homestead, owned and occupied by you as your primary residence, and listed solely in your name.
Registration for deed preparation is limited to the first twenty (20) eligible participants and closes at end of day November 9, 2025. Those eligible will be contacted to schedule their individual appointment.
Cost: $48.33 for Notary and Recording of the Deed (amount may vary slightly depending on statutory or bank fees).
Note: Registration and/or attendance does not guarantee a Lady Bird Deed will be completed.
