More than just a journal, Knowledge of Self is a Black Power time capsule filled with reflective writing prompts, mental health resources, and striking imagery, created in response to the 2020 protests for Breonna Taylor and George Floyd. This book is a tool for self-discovery, healing, and empowerment.
James’ work has appeared in Vogue, GQ, Essence, HuffPost, and Complex, where he’s covered politics, race, entertainment, and fashion. A former celebrity stylist and current fashion journalism instructor at Columbia University Barnard College, he brings a wealth of knowledge on culture, identity, and creative expression.
