In this beginning and very fun etching class, students will learn several uncomplicated ways to transfer a hand drawn or stamped image onto copper or brass. A chemical solution will be used to etch your design onto the surface of copper or brass. We’ll cover a variety of patinas to make your image stand out as well as appropriate sealants. Incorporate the pieces you create in class as pendants, earrings or a “stamping” for any project. This process is quite simple and easy to replicate at home.
There is a supply kit fee made payable to the teacher day of class by cash or check. Please come prepared to pay this fee.
All other tools will be available for use.
