Easy Does It is a weekend where we take a step back and start to do something slowly and carefully, and examine what it is that makes everything else in the dance easy. Come and learn from one of the world’s best mover Tatiana Udry, as she shares her knowledge of the dance, and everything that has made her the superstar that she is. For the partner classes, 6 months of Lindy Hop experience is needed.Saturday:
230-4 pm: Solo Secrets: Shapes, Spins, Slides, and Specials
In this class, Tatiana will share with you the secrets to solo jazz movement, whether you’re a solo jazz dancer or a partner dancer. She will work specifically on shapes, spins, slides and other special tips to becoming an awesome solo jazz dancer. Some knowledge of Lindy Hop or Solo Jazz needed.
415-545 pm: Conversations in Swing
The beauty of Lindy Hop is the fact that it is two people dancing not just as individuals but also in conversation with each other and the music to make it a beautiful dialogue. Come and learn the conditions and elements that make this magic possible, and get suggestions on moves and rhythms that you can add to your dance vocabulary. Use what you’ve learnt in the previous workshop and try them out in partnership. The class will be co-taught by Sinclair Ang. Knowledge of some solo jazz steps and Lindy Hop needed.
Saturday Evening@The Jazz Loft
8 pm: Jazz it Up - forget about solo jazz steps, here’s a class that will help you think about movement in response to jazz music!
830-11 pm Social Dance Party with Amanda Lee Swingtet
Get ready for performances, competitions, and swingin music by the Amanda Lee Swingtet!
Sunday:
130-245 pm: Followers’ Delight
This class is dedicated to followers who want to learn how to look and feel good about being a follow in Lindy Hop. If you’re a solo jazz dancer, you can also pick up many tips on how to look and feel good about your movement as well.
245-4 pm: Charleston Challenge
If you’ve not seen Tatiana dance the charleston, you’ll be in for a treat. Come and learn the dance from the best. Some experience will be helpful but you don’t need any to learn how to do one of the main jazz dance
415-545 pm: Tatiana’s Special
This partner Lindy Hop class will be Tatiana’s choice in terms of things she wants to work on after watching the dancers throught the weekend, but you can help her decide also by filling in the section below! Knowledge of Lindy Hop needed!
