Eastside Repair Cafe is a free community event to share skills, repair damaged items and enjoy a neighbourly hot drink.Available Repairer skills for each month are posted on the event discussion page in the week before each event.
To give you an idea, typical repair skills available include:
-clothing and fabric repairs
- patches, loose or missing buttons,
- toys,
- small furniture items {chairs, indoor and outdoor},
- crockery, kitchen utensils including pots and pans,
- bric a brac,
- replacing zip sliders on outdoor bags and camping equipment,
- musical boxes, garden tools, some jewellery items,
- shoe sole resurfacing,
- small guitar repairs.
- small electrical appliance testing
- plugs replacement
Bicycle maintenance advice is also offered when our bike guru Pete is in town - appointments required!
Come along, meet some new faces & learn some new skills regardless of whether you have a broken item or not.
