Join us on our annual Easter Ride to help Raeyah's Hands of Support raise the awareness of childhood cancer and Autism. How children going through cancer treatment benefit from sensory toys and equipment. How they help reduce anxiety, promote relaxation & physical, social & emotional development. They allow children to be creative, develop language, and promote cognitive development, all of which can be affected by chemotherapy treatment. Staff have only recently started to be trained in how to support and understand children with autism and they don’t always have the tools or equipment that can best support them. Raeyah's Hands Of Support as a charity, which supports children going through cancer treatment especially those with autism (although they don’t refuse to help any child), will be providing sensory toys/equipment to the hospitals to make each day a little easier and relief some of the pressure parents may feel when trying to pack anything their child will need to help them regulate whilst they are admitted for treatment.
We will join them on the 28th of March at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, where they will be delivering all the toys and equipment. We will help to deliver the gift bags and will say hi to the children undergoing treatment.
We are meeting up from 11:00am at The Yard for breakfast, coffee and debrief before we head off to Bristol Children's Hospital. Pegs up 13:00. Ride will travel from The Yard Dundry, through Bristol, to The Horseshoe Pub Magnotsfield(BS154PA)for some food and drinks and you will have a chance to meet and speak with MentalHealthMotorbike team there as well. We will have one stop in city centre and we will visit Children's Hospital as well to deliver Easter gifts.
Everyone is welcome. Route is 125cc friendly.
See you all there.
