What is a Paddle Auction?A Paddle Auction is a lot of fun and a great way to win fantastic prizes.
How it works:
When you arrive there will be a table set up where you will purchase your bidding paddles. The cost per Paddle is $5. You will pick you lucky number(s) from the available paddles. Each paddle has a number on it and there is a corresponding ball with that same number. After purchasing your paddle, the corresponding ball will be placed in the ball cage.
For each bidding paddle you will be given a ticket for a chance to win a free gift. The free gifts are items that have been donated by the vendors. Also, if you bring a guest and it is their first time at the paddle auction you will receive an additional ticket for the drawings. Please keep your ticket numbers handy as the MC will be announcing winning numbers throughout the auction.
After you purchased your paddle(s), it’s time to shop the vendor tables along the walls. They will have awesome items available. This is a great way to support local businesses.
Most vendors participate in “Lucky Duck.” “Lucky Duck” vendors will have a small rubber duck displayed on their table. For every $10 purchase at their table, they will give you a ticket for a cash drawing (please remind them). Please write you name and phone number on the back of the ticket and place it in the designated container. The winner will be announced during the auction.
Next be sure to check out all the auction items/baskets that you will have a chance to win. They will be in the center of room. After seeing all the great item, you will probably decide to purchase another paddle or two. You may even decide to purchase an AIP (All In Paddle).
Now it’s time to check out the food that is available for purchase. Get yourself a sandwich, chips, and soda or water from a vendor or visit the bar for a little something stronger.
50/50 raffle tickets will available to purchase from the VFW. They will have a small area set up close to the doors. Be sure to purchase some.
Grab a seat, get comfortable and get ready to win some great prizes.
Each item/basket will be described by the MC as our Vanna showcases the item.
If it’s an item you would like to bid on/win you will hold up a paddle and a $1 bill. If you have purchased more than one paddle and want to up your odds in winning you can bid with
additional paddles. You can hold up one, two or all of your paddles with a $1 bill for each paddle. Be sure keep your paddles in the air until we have a winner.
Once all the bids are in, the MC will allow the balls in the cage to fall out, the first number will be announced. If that is your paddle number and you have it in the air and paid the $1 bid for that paddle then you win. If you did not bid and your paddle number is called you say “NO BID.” If you have more than one paddle, but only bid with one of them, that is the only number you can win with. No changing paddles once the bidding has closed. Balls are dropped until a paid bid number is found.
About half way through the auction we will take a short intermission. This is a good time to shop the vendor tables again, get another paddle or 2, refresh your drink, go to the restroom, and purchase you 50/50 raffle tickets. Please return to your seats after intermission and get ready for more great prizes
If you purchased additional paddles during intermission the corresponding balls will have been placed in the ball cage. Please be alert and know which paddle numbers you are bidding with and which ones you are not using. This will keep the auction moving along.
What is an AIP (All In Paddle)? An AIP is a chance to win any/all of the 55 baskets/item in the auction. The cost is $60 ($5 for the Paddle and $1 bid for each of the 55 items). AIP must be purchased before the auction begins. It can be purchased before the day of the auction by contacting any of the vendors. An advantage to purchasing an AIP before the day of the auction is you get to pick your paddle numbers before others get to. Also, if you cannot make it to the auction you are already set for a chance at any/all of the prizes. Also, the items that you win will be delivered to you by the vendor you purchased you AIP from.
All vendor specials will be announced by the MC before the auction starts.
Additional things to know:
· Bring $1 bills with you for bidding
· You must be over 21 to bid on baskets/items with alcohol
· Bring your friends, family, neighbors, and co workers
· Have fun
