Are you a Medtech SME or an organisation supporting medtech SMEs to get an innovative Medical Device, Diagnostic or Digital Health Technology to market?
The National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) invite you to apply for a place at this half day roadshow specifically tailored for medtech SMEs to find out how the regional NIHR infrastructure can help with:
- opportunities for non-dilutive funding
- formulating research plans, finding collaborators, supporting centres, data, samples and facilities for R&D
- conducting clinical trials in the NHS and other settings
- connecting you to other organisations that can help
- connecting with the local NIHR Infrastructure
The event will be held at, and in partnership with, Nottingham Trent University, Clifton campus [Map and directions]. The university has a range of facilities and expertise to support medtech SMEs in developing high value products and is offering tours of facilities on the day. On site car parking is available for attendees.
Registration will close on 15 December or at capacity of 200 attendees.

- Medical Technologies Innovation Facilities MTIF. The world class equipment and facilities available across the two sites enable clients to push the boundaries of scientific discovery and pioneer innovative solutions to complex medical challenges. Their scientists, researchers and technicians span a broad spectrum of academic knowledge and expertise, and regularly offer their experience, advice and time to support a diverse range of projects for clients. At the heart of MTIF’s mission is a commitment to improving patient outcomes and quality of life.
- The Medical Engineering Design Research Group MEDRG is based within the Engineering department at Nottingham Trent University and is an interdisciplinary group bringing together a wide range of academics, clinicians, surgeons, healthcare companies and other medical professionals whose interests focus on medical engineering design across a wide range of research specialisms. These include wearable technologies, additive and subtractive manufacturing for medical applications, biomimetics, surgical robotics, augmented/virtual/immersive technologies and environments, and investigative research related to the utilisation of ‘smart materials’ for medical and surgical applications.
- The purpose-built Health & Allied Professions (HAP) Centre is home to our world-class teaching, practice, research and scholarship in the Institute of Health and Allied Professions. The 34,000 square foot building features mock hospital wards, consultation and counselling rooms, creative teaching spaces and specialist equipment, providing students with the knowledge and skills required for a dynamic career in nursing, paramedicine and healthcare.
