For the second year in a row, led by NAO music director Michael Ibrahim, FSO and NAO ensembles will collaborate on the stage of the historic Capitol Theatre to create an eclectic evening of musical traditions that truly span the globe and bridge cultures as they present East Meets West.
Arabic music — featuring the rich textures of the Oud, Qanun, and multiple vocalists — blends seamlessly with FSO strings, brass and percussion. The familiar melodies of Mozart and Bizet will be intertwined with the vibrant, exotic accents of Arabic language and music, creating a breathtakingly original experience showcasing the adaptability and harmony of different musical expressions.
