World Wetlands Day is celebrated every year on 2nd February to raise global awareness about the value of wetlands for humanity and the planet. It also marks the adoption of the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands in 1971 in the Iranian city of Ramsar.
Kolkata Explorers (a division of Green Step Tourism) takes you on a guided tour to the wetlands of eastern Kolkata, a Ramsar site in West Bengal on this day. The city is naturally inclined towards east. Come to experience the wonders of nature, where the wetlands naturally purify the water drained out of the city!
Starting from Chandra Gardens (opposite Science City). We will take you the nearest points by car, from where you can easily walk down to experience and understand. This will be a totally guided tour by Car.
TOUR ITENARY:
1. Meet at Chandra Gardens gate no. 1, opposite Science City, at 7:30 am.
2. Packed breakfast on board.
3. Journey by car into the wetlands
4. Tea from the villages while we walk there

3. Walk down the huge water bodies where fish is cultivated. Get to see the wonders of nature and understand how the sewerage water flowing out of city gets automatically cleaned here, fit for drinking.
