In our inaugural season here in Virginia, there has been a tremendous response within communities across our region for the free, 3-hour therapeutic respite sails that Sail Beyond Cancer Virginia provides. What better place to find respite than on the Chesapeake Bay and its waters! Our volunteers have been relentless in their outreach and connecting with cancer centers across the state to reach nominees, and approximately 30% of the nominees have been from the Virginia Beach-Norfolk-Chesapeake area.
As a result, we are excited to expand our volunteer base and the Hybrid Boat Program! We look forward to a summer excursion to the Little Creek and East Beach communities and hope to see you there!
