Life: Ups, Downs and Banana Bread
A selection of 3 plays by the same writers that wrote last year’s ‘4 Plays’
The production will run from Wednesday 9th April to Saturday 12th April inclusive starting at 7.30pm
There will be plenty of laughs and the occasional tear.
The three plays are as follows
‘What Time is it’ by Pam Valentine directed by Huan Quayle
Synopsis- For family reasons Alice is having to spend a few weeks in a retirement home. She finds it a traumatic experience and in spite of Queenie’s assurances that ‘there are worse places’ she adamantly insists she cannot stay. This is not what she is used to. Having realised that she has no choice but to put up with the situation a visit from her daughter-in-law forces her to accept that she maybe a resident there far longer than she anticipated.
‘Women Only’ by David Tristram directed by Pam Broadbent
After a stressful year for both of them, divorcee Laura decided to take her recently widowed mother Ruth on a much-needed holiday. A few gin and tonics later, Laura’s whole world is turned upside down. But as the extraordinary revelations start to fly, will there be an unexpected twist?
‘Lockdown in Little Grimley’ by David Tristram directed by John Hawker
In a time of lockdown, the Chairman Gordon calls an emergency meeting, complete with social distancing, to discuss his idea for their next production when restrictions ease-a touching love story set in a hospital, with all profits destined for the NHS. But based on their previous efforts, will the NHS actually end up worse off?
