About this Event
This April, the Morven Sustainability Lab is excited to kick off earth week by hosting a special Earth Day celebration as part of its Friday @ Morven series. We invite UVA students, faculty, and staff to join us for a full afternoon of fun activities that will help you connect with nature, learn about sustainability, and cultivate a shared appreciation and love for the earth.
Roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty with first-hand experience volunteering at the Morven Kitchen Garden. Learn about regenerative farming practices and the joy of growing your own food for the local community. Join MSL staff for a guided walk through Morven’s fields to experience its diverse landscapes and beautiful, natural vistas. Learn about sustainable cooking through our add on activity - “shop local pizza party” where you can make your own personal pan pizza with ingredients sources from local community farmers and vegetables from the Morven Kitchen Garden.
This Fridays @ Morven event will be focused on being outdoors and centered around the Morven Kitchen Garden. All activities and programs will gather and depart from the MKG. Bring a picnic, yard blanket, and sunscreen to spend the afternoon outside.
Transportation:
- Shuttle: Free first come, first served shuttle will depart from grounds at 1:30PM! Pick up near the University Chapel. The shuttle will depart Morven back to grounds at 6:00PM
- Cars: Guests are able to drive to Morven for this program if they get a "car ticket." Space for cars on the property is limited, to help manage this all drivers must get a general admission ticket & a car ticket. We encourage guests to carpool! If car tickets sell out - take the shuttle!
