About this Event
Join us at The Peale for a special screening of EARTH SEED: A People's Journey of Radical Hospitality. Brought to you by filmmaker Fox Nakai and the People's Kitchen Collective, this feature-length documentary invites viewers to envision and enact a collective future. The filmmakers and other guests are available after the film to answer questions and provide more details about the project and their call to action.
People's Kitchen Collective (PKC) works at the intersection of art and activism as a food-centered political education project. Based in Oakland, California, their creative practices reflect the diverse histories and backgrounds of their crew. Written in their families' recipes are the maps of their migrations and the stories of their resilience. It is from this foundation that PKC create immersive experiences that honor the shared struggles of their people. They believe in radical hospitality as a strategy to address the urgent social issues of our time.
