Celebrate Earth Day at the forest with a weekend of plant/tree education and grounded self-care.
In honor of Earth Day 2024 we are hosting an Educational & Wellness weekend dedicated to supporting our beloved food forest!

SATURDAY April 20th: Special Edition Forest Walks
9:00am-11:00am
On Saturday, we are hosting Education Forest Walks led by local experts from TreeFolks and Wildflower School of Botanical Medicine. For this special occasion, you will have the opportunity to choose between a Tree ID walk, focused on learning about the various trees in our forest, or a Plant ID walk, focused on the medicinal properties and applications of various plants. SUNDAY April 21st: Earth Day Reset Retreat
10:00am - 3:00pm
On Sunday, ground in the forest with us for an Earth Day Reset. We’ll have a morning and afternoon yoga/movement class, a breathwork session, and a sound healing meditation. 1/2 day option available. See schedule below. No one will be turned away due to lack of funds. Donate what you can.

10:00am - 11:00am Animal Yoga
11:00am - 12:00pm Healing Breath Work
1:00pm - 2:00pm Gentle Yoga
2:00pm - 3:00pm Sound Healing Meditation


More About our Guest Teachers:
Gillian Hodler, Community Engagement and Volunteer Coordinator at TreeFolks with a mission is to empower Central Texans to build stronger communities through planting and caring for trees.
Gillian grew up in New York City, and always loved climbing trees. She moved to Austin in 1999, on a bicycle, and immediately felt at home in the beautiful parks and abundant green spaces. She studies plants through many different lenses, including organic gardening, permaculture, herbalism, and edible wild foods. As a community volunteer Gillian has worked with many local organizations, including the Central Texas Seed Savers, and the 5604 Manor Community Garden in East Austin. Gillian joined TreeFolks in October 2018, and has previously served as the NeighborWoods Program Assistant, and the Tree Watering Coordinator for Austin Environmental Heroes. She loves to talk to anyone who will listen about why we should all be Tree Folks


Darlene Starr, Teacher at Wildflower School of Botanical Medicine providing transformative holistic herbal education, specializing in bioregional, local plants, gardening, and herb clinics.

Darlene is a fabulous clinical herbalist and herb gardener. She is also the the owner of Road Dog Health and Wellness and manages a Botanical Sanctuary in South Austin. She brings an extensive knowledge of plants as well as years of experience with with student and instructor communications.
