Come celebrate Earth Day with us at our in-person panel discussion and lunch! Learn from local experts how you and your company can create or improve your own sustainability efforts. Lunch will be served before the Q&A section and we will conduct tours of our recycling facilities afterwards. We encourage attendees to bring any unwanted items they wish to donate to this event and our staff will happily assist you. Meet the Panelists


Matt Riggs - Outreach Coordinator, MARC Solid Waste Management District

Matt has worked in the environmental field for 28 years, 23 of them at MARC. He coordinates regional recycling education initiatives such as RecycleSpot.org, the Recycle More At Work partnership, and the recycling hotline. He also oversees the regional Food Loss and Waste Reduction project, the Kansas City Environmental Education Network, and the MARC Green Team. He has an alter ego by the name of Eco Elvis which he uses to “edutain” people about taking care of the environment.


Sara Taylor - Sustainability Coordinator, Lee’s Summit Resource Recovery Park

Sara assists in identifying potential partners or markets for materials that can be pulled out of the waste stream and diverted away from landfills. She also specializes in supporting contractors and business owners in documenting their sustainability endeavors to attain points for prestigious green certifications such as LEED and Green Globes. Ms. Taylor actively engages in prominent industry groups like the US Green Business Council and the Construction and Demolition Recycling Association, ensuring she remains at the forefront of the latest sustainability initiatives and efforts. Her commitment to staying informed underscores her dedication to promoting environmentally conscious practices within her organization and the broader industry.


Andrew Foster - Innovation Leader, Black & Veatch

Andrew Foster is an innovation leader at Black and Veatch, focusing on creating mobile and modular solutions in disaster response, resiliency, digital equity, and healthcare. With a background that combines emergency management experience at the University of Kansas and practical experience from his service in the Navy, Andrew is dedicated to developing technologies that improve community safety, sustainability, and overall well being. His work embodies a commitment to leveraging his unique mix of skills and experiences to address critical challenges and make a significant impact.


Skip Wilson - President, Wilson Marketing Group

Skip Wilson is the President of Wilson Marketing Group based out of Atlanta, Georgia, where he was born and raised. His company began in 1982 and currently represents over 100 non-profit organizations including Goodwill organizations across the country. He has over 30 years of experience in the salvage and recycling business. His wealth of knowledge and expertise assists organizations by maintaining successful salvage and recycling programs. Skip spends his free time trying to keep up with his three children's school and sports schedules. He also enjoys playing golf when he gets the opportunity.


Leslie Scott - Founder, Re.Use.Full

Leslie Scott is the founder of Re.Use.Full, a nonprofit organization that encourages reuse through its online donation-matching platform, Un-Dumpster Day one-stop donation collections and educational events. She's the dog mom to Lila and Ollie, fosters for various dog rescues and is a proud Bestybnb caregiver, providing a temporary home for dogs while their owner receives essential medical or mental health care or domestic violence support.
